Superintendent - Travis Hoover
Good day and thank you for visiting the LaFargeville Central School website. I am extremely proud and honored to hold the title of Superintendent of Schools. Our school district always has and continues to provide excellent learning opportunities for our students in all areas while being fiscally responsible to district taxpayers. I must share with you how privileged I am to be a part of a team of professionals who care for your children and work extremely hard to make sure each and every day your child feels safe and has the same opportunity to learn as any other student in the world.
Our district focus is to make sure each and every student grows each and every day and that upon graduation he/she is ready to pursue a successful career, whether that means being "Employed, Enrolled, or Enlisted". Furthermore, I vow we will not lose sight of the fact we are here to serve the educational needs of all the children living within the LaFargeville Central School District and to prepare them for the future.
As I hope you can tell by both my words and my actions, I consider myself fortunate to be a member of this school district. When I was hired for this position, I promised the Board of Education they would not find an active Superintendent of Schools who cares more about the LaFargeville Central School District than I do and I still know this to be true.
I invite you to come to any event at our school (musical, concert, game, parent conferences, open house, informational session, Board of Education meeting, etc.) and I believe you will be able to see what a wonderful district and community this is to learn, live, and work.
Hope to see or hear from you soon.

Mr. Todd Burker
Thank you for visiting this page and taking the time to get to know me.
It is with great excitement to introduce myself as the Secondary Principal at LaFargeville Central School.
My wife Emily and I raise our son Marek in our North Country home, along with our dog Wilson.
I have taught at Carthage for the last 19 years. I received my Bachelor's in History & Government from St. Lawrence University and received my Masters Degree from SUNY Postdam in Social Studies. I received my CAS from SUNY Oswego.
I enjoy being outdoors playing ultimate Frisbee or farming/gardening, growing the food my family consumes. I spend a fair amount of time reading historical works. I also love following sports. I am a huge Mets, Lakers, Bills & Canadiens fan.
I look forward to joining a new school family and joining with you in promoting LCS as "the center of education for all community members, providing each student with the opportunity to achieve their full potential," and celebrating the achievements of the Red Knights.

Mrs. Mindy Ortiz
I am thrilled to introduce myself as your new Elementary Principal and CSE Director. I am incredibly excited to become part of this vibrant and student-centered community, where every child's success and well-being are at the heart of what we do.
I am a native of the North Country, and I deeply value the close-knit, community-driven environment that our region is known for. My husband, Carlos, is a retired Army veteran, and we are proud parents of four wonderful children: Isabell, Liam, Sophia, and Vincent.
I come to you with over a decade of teaching experience at Carthage, where I've had the pleasure of nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning. I hold an undergraduate degree in Applied Linguistics, a master's degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education, and a CAS in Special Education and Educational Leadership, all from SUNY Potsdam. These experiences have shaped my educational philosophy and commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time outdoors, riding horses, and cherishing moments with my family. As an avid sports fan, I'm always cheering on my favorite football teach - GO DOLPHINS!
I am looking forward to getting to know each of you, working together, and ensuring that our school continues to be a place where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
Thank you for welcoming me into your community. Here's to a fantastic school year ahead!
